We Are Committed in Fire Prevention and Life Safety

Every resident and business in Sonoma County is vulnerable to unexpected emergencies. Our community has persevered through devastating wildfires and is now coping with a global pandemic and ongoing civil unrest. Our state and county-approved operating procedures are designed, in part, to help us respond to the unexpected.

  • We promptly comply with all evacuation orders.
  • Our proposed irrigation pond will provide up to 830,220 gallons of water, 120,000 gallons of which will be dedicated for firefighters.
  • Our staff is trained in workplace safety and health procedures.

  • We are taking precautions against the spread of COVID-19, including masks and social distancing on the premises.

Emergency Response & Action Plan

There was a small fire on our premises in the interior of a structure used for cultivation last year. There were no injuries, and the fire was contained entirely inside the structure. Our staff was trained and properly equipped to respond immediately. They quickly extinguished the flames. We notified the fire department immediately and were relieved to see that emergency vehicles had no trouble accessing the property using Puff Lane.

Footage from our video assessment and surveillance system, which monitors and records the premises, indicates that the fire started when a rat damaged an electrical cable. Following the fire, Foxworthy Farms secured demolition permits for three unpermitted structures on the property and the associated electrical work. We also entered into a settlement agreement with the county related to fines and ongoing operations. We have met all our obligations under the agreement, including the suspension of greenhouse cultivation and on-site processing of harvested cannabis (drying, trimming, and packaging).

Fire Prevention Plan (FPP)

We understand the gravity of fire safety issues in the county. The owner-residents and staff were evacuated from our property twice during the devastating wildfires in 2019. We are committed to preventing and fires and dealing with emergencies. We submitted a Fire Prevention Plan (FPP) with our Conditional Use Permit application in 2017 and commissioned a fire risk analysis for the farm this year.

PROTECTING THE COMMUNITY

Foxworthy Farms is committed to protecting the community and watershed where we live and work. Our Community Benefit Plan promotes safety, sustainability, and the Sonoma County economy. We are certain that the neighborhood and watershed are safer because of our plan. We look forward to working with the County, our neighbors, and other stakeholders to fully implement this plan when our application for a Conditional use Permit is approved.
